Privacy Policy

Your email address. Sign-in is passwordless: you enter your email, we send a one-time code, and you enter it. We store the email so the account persists and so codes can be delivered. We never store a password, because there isn't one.

Your check-in settings and times. Your check-in interval, grace period, reminder offset, whether Travel Mode is on, whether you have an active subscription, the time you last checked in, and the time an alert was last sent. This is what makes the check-in work.

Your trusted contact. The name and Telegram handle you enter for the person who should be told if you go quiet, plus a Telegram chat identifier once they confirm, and whether their invitation is pending or confirmed.

We do not collect location data. There is no location field anywhere in our database and the app does not request location permission. GHOSTED is about whether you checked in, never where you were.

When you add a trusted contact, you are giving us someone else's name and Telegram handle. Please only add someone who has agreed to it. We use that information for one purpose: to send them a confirmation request and, if you go quiet past your reminders and grace period, a message telling them so.

Your trusted contact can remove themselves at any time by blocking or stopping the Telegram bot, and you can remove them from inside the app, which deletes their details.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of providers to run the service:

• Supabase hosts our database and handles sign-in. Your email, settings and trusted-contact details are stored there.
• Telegram delivers the confirmation request and the alert to your trusted contact. Their handle and the message are processed by Telegram.
• Apple processes subscription payments. We never see your payment details; we only receive whether a subscription is active.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect someone's safety.

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and it is removed, as described below. We do not maintain a separate archive of deleted accounts.

In the app, go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, your check-in history and settings, and your trusted contact's details. It cannot be undone, and you do not need to email anyone to do it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Deletion is available directly in the app. For anything else, email hello@ghosted.day.

GHOSTED is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting provider, and access to your records is restricted to your own account. No service can promise perfect security, and we won't pretend otherwise.

GHOSTED is not an emergency service. It does not contact emergency responders and it is not a medical or health monitoring product. It notifies one person you chose, who decides what to do.

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app or by email.
